initial situation

In 2020, the Reisacher Group opened its large BMW brand world dealership for BMW, BMW i, BMW M, MINI, ALPINA and BMW Motorcycles in Augsburg. Covering an area of 36,000 square meters, the dealership sets standards in the areas of customer orientation, digitalization and sustainability. As service provider, echion AG was responsible for the equipment set up with premium audio and LED.

the Projekt

The optical highlight of the digital signage installation is the 55 m² LED wall on the outer facade facing the main street. It was complemented by LED bands connected to a digital wayfinding system customized for Reisacher, which guides customers to the right place on the premises as soon as they enter the premises. Inside, an 18.1 m² L-shaped LED display and an 8 m² double-sided LED become an attention-grabbing eye-catcher.

Premium Sound for the show rooms

The echion music editorial team developed an exclusive in-store sound program for the BMW showroom as well as for the MINI and BMW Motorcycles areas. The special challenge for the hardware equipment was to separate the seamlessly merging sales areas acoustically and precisely from each other and also to be able to guarantee interference-free consultation from every point of the salesroom. In order not to compromise the modern, minimalist visual design of the car dealership with visible cable runs, wireless loudspeakers were selected that could be seamlessly integrated into the existing lighting concept.

Initial Situation

The cooperation between the PENNY DEL club and the Augsburg-based media company started in the 2019/20 season with the outfitting of the “Panther Club” of the VIP lounge in the home Curt-Frenzel Stadium. In the coming years, this partnership is to be further expanded.

Project description

Since January 2020, the VIP lounge’s “Pantherclub” has featured two professional LED steles and a large-format LED wall. On them, player portraits, game-day-specific content and highlights from the Panthers’ last game are shown. In addition, visitors and guests in the VIP area of the ice hockey club receive digital information on catering offers. Both the technical equipment and the entire production and control of the daily updated digital signage content is provided by echion AG.

Software

This support is supplemented by the new “echion Dynamics” software, which is being developed jointly with the Augsburg Panthers. The online tool creates daily updated video animation at the push of a button, which will be used in perspective in the social media of the PENNY DEL club.

With its new orientation under the motto “I Am Gerry – We Are Gerry”, Gerry Weber is deliberately targeting the modern woman over 50. The aim is: to establish an even stronger relationship with female customers and to focus on the beautiful moments in life. Based on this, we developed two individual music formats that make brand values audible at the POS as well. One of the formats is tailored exclusively to the German-speaking market, while a second format was customized for use in its international stores.

Instore Audio Program Takko Fashion

Initial Situation

The fashion retailer from Telgte operates in over 1,900 stores in 17 different countries. These require a music program in line with the target group. The goal: professionalization, standardization and optimization of the auditory customer approach at the POS. In addition, audio spots are provided on a regular basis for most of the country subsidiaries to advertise promotions and offers.

Project description

Based on Takko Fashion’s target group and brand profile, two individual music formats have been developed to support the textile discounter’s retail brand and to optimally its target groups. The first format is exclusively compiled for the German-speaking region, while the second format has been optimized the international stores. Popular titles from various pop genres form the foundation of the music programs, which are then supplemented by selected pieces of music from the dance and rock sectors.

Audio Content Production

Together with the echion subsidiary, DIE KLANGMACHER, native speakers from 13 different countries were brought together and a production process was developed from text creation to booking. The goal: perfectly optimized and seamless multi-channel communication, between the central Takko Fashion Marketing, the respective country subsidiaries and echion. Due to a good foundation of trust and collaboration minimal coordination is required.

Digitale Menu Boards IKEA

initial situation

IKEA’s wish was to fit out all their home furnishing stores in Germany with digital signage poster boards providing information on the subject of food/restaurant. By digitising the menu boards, the aim was to enable both the IKEA head office and the individual stores to quickly and flexibly create and exchange standardised, visually appealing offers. The idea was for customers to be able see up-to-the-minute offers at a glance and be made aware of mealtime-specific menus (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea/coffee, dinner) by special highlights.

Hardware

The hardware used comprises digital signage poster boards of various sizes in portrait or landscape orientation plus one or two digital signage screens. The placement points for the displays are the entrance foyer, the furniture showroom and the restaurant lobby area.

The video playback hardware is a deployment-optimised Windows-based system designed for professional digital signage applications. The software and client content allocation platform is produced by echion.

Contentproduktion und Contentmanagement

Based on IKEA’s requirements and specifications echion produces various templates for presenting both food and retail-related content. The templates use a visually uniform and contemporary design as expected by consumers in modern retail spaces.

For content control, an individual content allocation platform (content management system) was designed and developed specifically for IKEA. That gives the IKEA head office the ability to centrally control the content for the individual stores. It also gives the stores flexibility – by virtue of the option of removing or swapping offers and creating their own individual daily offers based on a template.

Resümee

echion AG has been working with IKEA in Germany in the area of digital in-store communication since 2009 and is familiar with all the necessary processes, the centralised structure and decentralised control by the individual home furnishing stores.

As part of the “Instore Audio” project, echion AG controls daily playlists for each individual store in Germany, designs and produces content (promotion spots) on request and in consultation with the head office in Hofheim, and enters them into the individual program nationwide.

In addition, echion AG is in constant communication with all home furnishing stores (LMS and building services) to co-ordinate local content and/or local requirements and adjustments.

LED Bedroom 2020 IKEA

Initial Situation

With its “Bedroom 2020“ concept IKEA intends to make the bedroom department more eventful and accessible to its customers. Good sleep is important for your health. The choice of the right bed plays and important role here. With the decision for the LED-Video displays and the remarkable appearance, IKEA clearly directs the focus to an absolute welcoming atmosphere and at the same time emphasizes the substantiated expertise in the field of healthy sleeping.

Project description

In line with remodeling of the bedroom departments in 43 IKEA stores in Germany one LED-Video display each is installed at a preferred position in this department. In cooperation with our longtime supplier Samsung we worked out the optimum solution for the presentation of the bed assortment for IKEA. Alternatively, two different versions can be applied: 20 cabinets with a total size of 5.18 m² or 24 cabinets with a total size of 6.22 m². In the top range, the LED-Video displays reach a luminance of 2000 cd/m². Both versions are equipped with a high-resolution pixel pitch of 2.5 mm. The contents are developed in cooperation with IKEA and then created by the echion motion graphic’s department. In the future contents varying by season will offer maximum entertainment.
